Think Tank by Aikidoka They DO Love me! I can finally breathe!! I am so excited about my new home. You just can’t imagine what it was like for me at that other place. It was cold and smelly. I couldn’t get any air in there. And all I had to eat was the root of a plant. BLECH! It worries me to think of how many of my family members are going through the same thing. I hope that by telling my story, some of them can be helped too. So let me tell you a bit about myself. My name is Aikidoka, but you can call me Ike. I am a Siamese Fighting fish; some people call me a betta fish. I used to live in this little tiny cup at this place where a bunch of my family members where there in cups next to me. That was until a lady took me home. They dumped me into this odd shaped container and plopped a big plant on top of me. I hated that thing. It took up so much space and I couldn’t get up to the surface to breathe air. I guess the lady expected me to eat the roots because she didn’t give me anything else to eat, but I suppose she just didn’t know that what I really wanted was some betta pellets, brine shrimp, or even some bloodworms. MMmmmm!! She must not have known that my water was too cold for me either or that I needed to have a filter to make my water clean. Also, it was just too darn small. I’m not a needy guy but for me to live a long, healthy life, I do need some space, say, 3-5 gallons would be perfect! The lady must have finally listened to me because now I live in a palace! This thing must be a whole 5 gallons and it’s oh so warm! The heater she gave me keeps the water at a perfect 78 degrees. The filter keeps my water moving nice and slowly and helps my water stay clean. And the best part...DINNER! I get pellets, brine shrimp, and finally my favorite, bloodworms! I am so happy now. I love my new home. Now that I feel better, I think the lady and the rest of the family are enjoying me more now too.
